Junk Drawer at Ephemera Fest in Lexington

I went to Ephemera Fest in Lexington Kentucky last May, with a Junk Drawer table, readings, and workshop. I was joined by friends Nicki and Meghan of SPOC, Self Publishers of Chicago, which has all kinds of zines and things from Chicago area writers. It took place at the Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning, which is located in the old public library.

Ephemera Fest was started in Chicago, actually, by Michelle Aiello. I read at her final reading in Chicago before she moved to Lexington. She missed the creative scene that she'd left behind, so she got together with some new friends and started Ephemera Fest anew. People in Lexington have really gotten into it, in only its second year, and everyone is looking forward to another fest.

Michelle has been doing a zine herself called Indigo since 1995, just before I discovered what a zine was. Wow.
